Karen Shimp is a founder and Vice President
of Velocity Sports & Entertainment. She was formerly a
VP, Account Supervisor with Clarion Sports and Entertainment
where she supervised and managed corporate entertainment for
two major accounts - IBM and FedEx - at national sporting
events ranging from the Super Bowl to the Masters.
During a two-year departure from traditional sports/event
marketing, Karen worked with BGW Design Limited, Inc., an
event production company. During that time she fostered and
managed a portfolio of new corporate accounts including Morgan
Stanley, Sports Illustrated, Reliance National and Nike.
Karen began her career with Twenty-First Century Marketing,
providing sales and marketing services support during the
1992 Olympic Winter and Summer Games. While at Twenty-First
Century Marketing, Karen also developed and planned special
events and customer entertainment programs at events including
the 1992 America's Cup, 1994 World Cup and 1994 Winter Olympic
Games.
A graduate of F.I.T. with a degree in Fashion Merchandising
Management, Karen currently resides in Connecticut.
