ATLANTA, GA (May 31, 2001) - Cingular
Wireless, the second largest nationwide wireless company,
today announced that Velocity Sports & Entertainment,
a sports marketing agency and the Sports Business Journal's
2000 "undisputed rookie of the year," has
joined the Cingular team.
Velocity Sports & Entertainment will assist Cingular
Wireless' national sponsorships team and field sponsorship
managers, maximizing the value of Cingular's current
and future sports, entertainment and event marketing
assets as well as interacting with Cingular's target
audiences. Velocity will be supporting Cingular's effort
to extend their overall brand strategy into their sponsorship
activation programs while leveraging Cingular's broad
ranging portofolio of sports and entertainment partnerships
throughout the country. They include relationships with
local MLB, NHL, NFL and NBA teams as well as myriad
regional, state and local festivals and events.

Cingular reviewed a total of nine agencies
through a lengthy written proposal process, which was
narrowed to a pool of five and then one final agency.
