August 1, 2003- With Lance Armstrong vying
for a record-tying fifth-straight Tour de France victory,
CT-based Sponsorship Research International (SRi) noted
CBS dedicated 23% of its three Sunday one-hour broadcasts
to Armstrong. That focus was rewarding to sponsors U.S.
Postal Service (USPS) and Nike. SRi analyzed exposure
the USPS gained from appearing on Armstrong's uniform
due to its sponsorship of Tailwind Sports' team.
